This is a five hour platypus tour and wildlife spotlight adventure with Tony the 'Platypus Man of Geeveston'
Tony has decades of platypus experience. This has led to his reputation as Tasmania's go to Platypus guide. He spends many hours observing platypus in the field between tours. He thoroughly understands platypus behaviour in relation to their environment. This practical knowledge enables him to predict the location of the Platypus. It has also given him intuition on how they will behave and why they display those behaviours.
His stories will enthral you with information about the lives of platypus. He loves to share his knowledge of the Tasmanian Platypus and other native wildlife.
We also guarantee that you will see Huon Valley platypus in the wild. We have close to a 100% success rate when locating platypus.
This guided wildlife tour also incorporates the discovery of other Tasmanian native nocturnal animals. We often have encounters with wallabies, possums and eastern barred bandicoots while spotlighting. You may be very fortunate and have the chance to observe Rakali (Australian Native Water Rat) and micro bats.
If you are a keen photographer this is a great opportunity to capture up close images of wild platypus and other creatures of the night.
